Established in October 1996, Protech Performance (PTP) was the first aftermarket import performance shop in Austin, Texas. We started out building Rotary engines and now work on any import vehicle.

In the early 2000, PTP began research & development on custom products for vehicles to help with efficiency and performance. In 2004, PTP created the first turbo kit for the Mazda RX-8 and was featured in Car & Driver (Click Here to read the Article). With the devlopment of our turbo kit, we created a custom heat shield designed to help hold down the heat from the hotside turbo, from this design we came up with the turbo blanket idea and went to work on creating a prototype. After testing our new prototype and getting great results, we decided to mass produce our turbo blanket for the popular T3/T4 size turbos. By popular demand, we now have a turbo blanket designed for T3, T4, T6, and stock Subaru Turbos.
